The 332d Expeditionary Fighter Squadron is a "dummy" designation used to refer to Air National Guard and Air Force Reserve Command F-16 units deploying to Balad AB. While the 332d designation is widely used, its is not the proper designation of the units while deployed to Balad. The 332d moniker is used since most Guard/Reserve units swap out on a more frequent basis compared to their active duty counterparts.
